Ministry of Finance informed that the Belarusian government debt decreased by 1% to Br115.2 trillion on June 1, 2012 (more than $13.8 billion). According to the Ministry of Finance, a Br1.2 trillion decrease is due to the repayment of the principal debt on stand-by credit of the IMF in the amount of $100.3 million.
Thus, the external public debt in the structure of the Belarusian public debt amounted to $ 11.7 billion under the limit of $14.3 billion on June 1 (it’s decreased by $137.6 million YTD).
Domestic public debt now equals Br17.8 trillion (limit - Br34 trillion, a YTD decrease - Br20.4 billion).
Belarus's budget surplus makes up 0.2%
According to the Ministry of Finance, the national budget surplus amounted to Br0.4 trillion, or 0.2% of GDP in January-May 2012.
Revenues of the republican budget amounted to Br34.4 trillion, or 36.6% of the adjusted annual plan, while the expenditure amounted to Br34 trillion, or 36.1% of the adjusted annual plan.
The income budget of the general government amounted Br78.6 trillion (40.2% of the adjusted annual plan) in this period. As for the general government expenditures, it totaled Br73.8 trillion (38% of the adjusted annual plan).
