“The cooperation between the organization and Belarus remains on a pretty high level. We collaborate with ministries and the Academy of the Interior Ministry,” he noted. The organization provides technical aid to Belarus. The relevant programs will be continued.
Commenting on the cooperation agreement signed by the IOM and the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly on 17 May, he noted that the document will boost joint efforts in improving the migration policy of the CIS member states. This is also important for harmonizing the national legislations with the international law.
Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Bekele Geleta told reporters that a memorandum of understanding was signed by the organization and the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly on 17 May. In his view, the CIS member states need a model law on cooperation with the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
