President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated his compatriots on Independence Day, celebrated on July 3 (the day of liberation of Minsk from Nazi invaders.) "Belarus has passed not an easy way to the nation building, economic and social development, as well as has taken its rightful place in the international community," said the head of state.
According to the Belarusian leader, today the Belarusian authorities "maintain the planned rate of the economic growth, provide social protection to our citizens and continue improving our home country." "We will do our best to ensure that our young country could become strong and prosperous," said President of Belarus.
"We remember that the great victory was an incredible challenge, taken the lives of millions of citizens. Our fathers and grandfathers saved our native land from slavery by their heroic struggle, revived it from the ruins and defended the right to a peaceful life. This generation is a worthy successor of the glorious traditions of the past," said Alexander Lukashenko in a congratulatory message.
