Lukashenko Renewed MIA and Exiled Evseev in Vitsebsk

June 15, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a series of staff reshuffle. In particular, Igor Evseev, who occupied the position of deputy head of Minsk city executive committee, was appointed by the President the head of the department of internal affairs of Vitsebsk voblast executive committee. Igor Evseev got "famous" for coordination of the crackdown on "silent protests" in Minsk last summer.

The President also appointed a new chief of criminal police and the first deputy minister of internal affairs. That will be Valentin Mikhnevich. Sergei Doroshko will perform the functions of the MIA Chief of the Department of Corrections.

In addition, according to the Administration of the President, Alexander Lukashenko gave his consent to appoint Igor Gajewski Deputy Minister of Health. He will also serve as the chief state sanitary doctor of the republic.

There were appointed two new deputy education ministers - Vasili Budkevich and Sergei Rudoi.

According to the decree of the President, Gennadi Trubilo was appointed Deputy Minister of Housing, while Valeri Kovalkov - Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security and Viktor Karankevich - Deputy Minister of Energy.

Vice-Premier will deal with energy efficiency in Belarus.

In addition, current deputy Prime Minister Sergei Semashko will have some new responsibilities. Alexander Lukashenko instructed him to execute functions of Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization - Director of the Department of Energy.

The President also gave his consent to the appointment of heads of several companies. Thus, Gennadi Anufreenko will become the general director of Mahiliou Strommashina, Eduard Gavrilkovich - the republican unitary production enterprise Granit and Vladimir Kiselev - the Belarusian Cement Plant.

Alexander Lukashenko approved Gregori Kosiachenko in the position of the rector of Belarusian State University of Physical Culture, while Yuri Groerov - the first deputy chairman of the Broadcasting Organization of the Union State.
