Pope appoints honorary prelate in Belarus

MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) – Pope Benedict XVI has appointed priest Andrei Stetskevich, Vicar General of the Minsk and Mogilev Archeparchy, as his honorary prelate in Belarus, BelTA learnt from the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus.

Priests with this title join the Pope’s circle and get the right to wear a special robe.

Priest Andrei Stetskevich is a Doctor of Divinity. He was appointed Pope’s honorary chaplain in 1999.
