GORKI DISTRICT, 27 July (BelTA) - The town of Gorki, the host of the Dazhynki 2012 nationwide harvest festival, will complete preparations for the festival in August, the chairman of the national organizing committee for the festival, Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich told reporters.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, many objects in Gorki were expected to undergo renovations as part of the preparations for the festival. In this situation, the organizing committee suggested commissioning them gradually. A number of objects were commissioned today: a fire station, the Pronya hotel, a fish breeding complex and a bus station. Such an approach allows completing all works on schedule, said Mikhail Myasnikovich. "The objective is to put ready-to-use objects into operation, without waiting for the start of the festival," he said.

As an example, he talked about secondary school No. 2 in Gorki. The educational facilities with sports and assembly halls and a canteen were put into operation on 27 July. This school will do corresponding vocational work involving the local lyceum, the Academy of Agriculture and major manufacturing facilities of Mogilev Oblast. "They will train specialists for the agricultural sector according to the full technological cycle,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

The Prime Minister visited the facilities currently under construction and those that came on stream and praised the builders for the extensive use of local materials and good quality of works.

Mikhail Myasnikovich also talked with local residents.
