Private sector to contribute more to Belarusian business councils with foreign countries

MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will invite representatives of the union of legal persons Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship to work as experts in the business councils that Belarus establishes with foreign countries. The step is laid down by the agreement on cooperation between the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship in 2016-2020. The document was signed by Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Chairman of the Presidium of the Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship Vladimir Karyagin on 27 May, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Makei remarked that the document also provides for tighter cooperation during preparations for and actual foreign visits of representatives of business circles. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects members of the Confederation to take an active part in foreign economic events, which are aimed at increasing the export of commodities and services, increasing the flow of foreign investments, and advancing manufacturing cooperation with foreign partners.

Vladimir Karyagin stressed that the agreement will help continue the productive dialogue between the private sector and the government, will enable conditions for further increasing the contribution of small and medium businesses into the economy, including the export component of the economy.

The document was worked out as part of the national program for supporting and developing export and the program on Belarus' social and economic development in 2016-2020 and as part of preparations for the Belarusian People's Congress, during which close attention will be paid to foreign economic activities.

The agreement on cooperation between the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship is aimed at getting Belarusian business circles to contribute to the government's efforts to increase export.
