BREST, 15 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Poland will ensure smooth transit of European football championship fans, said Yuri Korovaikin, Head of the Office for Automobile, City Electric Transport and Metro of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry, at the session of the Belarusian-Polish commission for international automobile communication in Brest on 15 May.

The session was dedicated to addressing issues relating to the operation of customs, border services, and transport companies of Belarus and Poland during the European football championship, said Yuri Korovaikin. Among other things participants of the session discussed the organization of international automobile transportation during the championship between 8 June and 1 July 2012.

The official said: “Our common goal is to enable smooth transit of fans to the championship venue within a short time and if possible with the least time spent at the border. We aim to work out possible transportation routes in order to remove possible barriers. First of all, it applies to those, who will travel via Belarus by road or who will employ transfer in Belarus because not all the fans will be able to transit to Warsaw by railway”.
