Union State MPs to discuss innovative programs

MOSCOW, 19 June (BelTA) - The Commission for Economic Policy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State will review the status of implementation of the Union State innovative programs in a meeting in Raubichi on 21 June, BelTA learnt form the press office of the Assembly.

The MPs will be informed about the activities undertaken to address the drawbacks identified by the audit bodies of the Union State in the course of implementation of the programs such as Trajectory, Cosmos-NT, Nanotechnology-SG, Composite, Belrostransgen-2 and other Union State programs.

Besides, the Union State MPs will consider the development of a single research and technology space of the Union State and the amendments to the draft list of priority research and technology and innovation programs and projects of the Union State. The MPs will consider the issues of the creation of the Union State’s body that will be in charge of keeping a register of the Union State’s property. They will review the issues of possession, exploitation and administration of the Union State’s property.

The commission will consider the Union State Council of Ministers’ budget performance report for 2010 and the reports of the audit bodies of Belarus and Russia regarding the 2010 budget execution.

Apart from the members of the Parliamentary Assembly the session will be attended by representatives of the Union State Permanent Committee, the Audit Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Russian Federal Space Agency, State Military and Industrial Committee of Belarus, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry, the State Committee on Science and Technologies of Belarus, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Research Center for Animal Breeding of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB), Institute of Gene Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The Union MPs will visit the NASB Research Center for Animal Breeding in Zhodino on 21 June. The center is involved in the Union State program Belrostransgen-2. The MPs will also meet with the administration of the Dzerzhinsky agricultural company and visit the Stankovo ecologic tourism center.
