MOSCOW, 23 September (BelTA) – Total accounts receivable for products delivered to Russia by Belarusian enterprises increased by more than 30% from the beginning of the year, Minister Counselor of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia Vladimir Koltovich told reporters on 23 September, BelTA has learned.
According to the diplomat, the situation with accounts receivable is closely connected with the economic situation in Russia. For example, the number of insolvent Russian processing enterprises increased 1.6 times. Meanwhile, Russia remains Belarus' major trade partner. It accounts for 37% of the Belarusian export. Agricultural products have occupied a leading position in the structure of export this year, while it was previous dominated by machine-building products. The commodity distribution network includes 177 agents with the participation of the Belarusian capital, of them 45 companies deliver foodstuffs.
Vladimir Koltovich stressed that the situation with accounts receivable is an issue of special importance. On 23-24 September Belarus' Embassy in Russia holds a meeting with the representatives of operators of the Belarusian commodity distribution network in Moscow and Moscow Oblast. Participants of the meeting discuss the prospects of boosting export to Russia taking the current economic situation, ways to reduce accounts receivable of Belarusian enterprises. Partaking in the meeting are the representatives of the Belarusian Prosecutor General's Office. “They will outline tasks which are to be fulfilled to reduce accounts receivable,” the diplomat said.
He said that unusual approaches are used to deal with accounts receivable. In particular, partaking in the session are the representatives of Russia's Corporate Collector's Association. They have prepared recommendations regarding methods to prevent overdue accounts receivable.
