– The American company Kelly Pipe has expanded the choice of products it buys from Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ trademark), namely oil country tubular goods (OCTG). Several days ago the overseas partners placed the first order for this kind of merchandise, the BMZ press service told BelTA.
Cooperation between BMZ and Kelly Pipe began a year ago. Back then during the first visit of Kelly Pipe representatives to BMZ the sides reached an agreement on supplying line pipes. In 2012 the sales amounted to over 2,000 tonnes. The quality of Belarusian pipes has been appreciated by customers and therefore the sales soared to 6,200 tonnes in January-April 2013. Specialists believe that taking into account the start of OCTG supplies the sales will considerably rise soon.
Kelly Pipe is not the only US company that BMZ cooperates with. In particular, in 2013 the US company Tejas Tubular will get 55,000 tonnes of oil and gas pipes, three times as much as in 2012.
Commissioned in September 2012, BMZ’s third pipe finishing line allows manufacturing high-tech products for the oil industry that sell well on global markets. The line can turn out 100,000 tonnes of pipe per annum.
In 2013 BMZ intends to raise pipe sales up to 148,000 tonnes, 120% as against 2012. The plans rely on concrete contracts for many products already.
Kelly Pipe Company is a leading USA manufacturer of pipe products and equipment.
Founded in 1984, Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ trademark) is the management company of the BMC holding company. The enterprise specializes in cast bars, profiled iron, rolled steel, reinforcing bars, metal cord, wire for high-pressure hoses and other kinds of wire. BMZ exports over 80% of the output.
