Belarus, Bulgaria to exchange customs law enforcement practices

MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – Heads of the customs services of Belarus and Bulgaria will meet in Minsk on 16 March to discuss cooperation in fighting violations of the customs law, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Customs Committee.

“This will be the first visit of Head of Bulgaria's National Customs Agency Rozalia Dimitrova to Belarus,” the press service said.

The parties are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding to strengthen the cooperation between the Belarusian State Customs Committee and the Bulgarian National Customs Agency. “Its implementation will allow for exchanging information on the legislation that is in force in Belarus and Bulgaria and on customs regulations,” the press service added. Besides, the customs services will exchange training and guidance materials and best practices related to the prevention, detection, and punishment of customs law violations.

A delegation of the Bulgarian National Customs Agency will visit Belarus on 16 to 17 March. On 17 March, they will pay a visit to the transport and logistics center Minsk-Beltamozhservice-2 and the state institute for advanced training and retraining of the Belarusian customs service. The visit is expected to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation.
