Belarus Defense Ministry: Russian Anti-Aircraft Missiles are on Their Way

Russian anti-aircraft missiles "Tor-M2" shall soon go into service of the Belarusian army. This was stated by the chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, First Deputy Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Petr Tikhonovski on December 7. "They are on their way and will soon enter service in the Air Force and Air Defense Forces," he said.

Major-General called a matter of time the possibility of delivery Russian complex "Iskander" to Belarus. "Prospects for equipping the aircraft fleet are serious enough,"he said, BelTA informs.

Meanwhile, according to Petr Tikhonovski, Belarus completed development of its own radar "Rosa." "It is also an effective tool," said the deputy minister.

As Telegraf previously reported, Belarus is going to set up a new army of 120 thousand people, in which the emphasis will be placed on the territorial defense forces. This was sated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on November 4, presenting the general's shoulder straps to the heads of voblasts and Minsk.
