Belarus to develop its tourism brand

MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – A special working group will be set up to develop a tourism brand of Belarus. Relevant information was posted on the website of the National Tourism Agency following the roundtable “Competitiveness of Belarus in the world market of tourist services. Belarus' Brand”, BelTA has learned.

The working group will be composed of 12 people. It will hold regular meetings with professionals from different areas, and representatives of government agencies.

The National Tourism Agency may also devise its own brand.

The roundtable suggested conducting sociological researches across tourist companies, and criticized the method of calculating tourist numbers. The method is imperfect and does not give a clear picture that can be used to estimate tourism in Belarus. Satellite accounts will be introduced in the near future. It is expected that this will give market participants the ability to operate the statistics when choosing effective solutions to promote the country.
