MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – In 2015 the Development Bank of Belarus financed investment projects on 17 state program and events to the total tune of almost Br9 trillion, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Bank after the board meeting.
The biggest loan resources were allocated on the construction of the second Minsk Ring Road, engineering and transport infrastructure for housing projects. The bank provided funds to OAO Promagroleasing to purchase equipment from industrial companies for its further leasing to legal entities of Belarus. The bank also financed the technical re-equipment of OAO Babushkina Krynka, the construction of the third line of the Minsk metro, the reconstruction of Minsk-Miklashevichi motorway P23. As of 1 January 2016 the aggregate accumulated volume of financing the economy reached Br36 trillion.
Last year 14 loan agreements were concluded with foreign clients. The portfolio of export loans totaled Br1.7 trillion in 2015 (an almost two-time increase). As a result, the granting of export loans reached Br4.4 trillion, or $270 million.
In 2015 the Development Bank of Belarus continued the development of its SMEs financial support program which was launched in August 2014. In late 2015 the bank presented two new products to support business. Since August 2014 a total of 442 investment projects of SMEs have been financed with the participation of partner banks to the total tune of Br2 trillion
According to the press service, the previous year was successful for the Development Bank in part of strengthening its positions at the international capital market. In May the bank attracted a €118 million syndicated loan. In November the second €120 million and $15 million syndicated loan made the bank the country's biggest holder of the portfolio of syndicated loans.
The opening of an office in London became a milestone event for the bank. “The London office should become a platform for the global work of the Development Bank on the foreign financial market,” specialists noted.
