MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – The Brazilian market can be useful for Belarus, BelTA learned from Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov on 6 October.
In particular, the official noted that despite the geographical distance between the two countries relations between Belarus and Brazil should be focused on economic cooperation. “We have commodity groups and individual commodities that we can successfully export to Brazil,” stated Valentin Rybakov. “If our economic entities work hard, this huge market with big reserves of mineral resources can be very useful for us.”
On 6 October the Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs was in the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus to present the ratification of the Belarusian-Brazilian intergovernmental agreement on lifting visa requirements for citizens of the two countries. The agreement is meant to allow Belarusians and Brazilians to travel without visas in the other country for 90 days within one calendar year.
However, the citizens of Belarus and Brazil will still have to observe the laws of the host country. The agreement does not restrict the rights of the Belarusian and Brazilian governments to deny entry or shorten the period of stay for undesirable citizens.
