MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) – In January 2016 Belarus' foreign trade surplus totaled $111.2 million, more than four times down from January 2015, BelTA learned from the statistics data released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
In January 2016 Belarus' foreign trade in merchandise and services totaled $3,841.2 million, 12.6% down from January 2015. Belarus' export amounted to $1,976.2 million (18.5% down), with import at $1,865 million (5.2% down).
The surplus of Belarus' foreign merchandise trade amounted to $6.4 million. Belarus' foreign merchandise trade shrank by 15.3% to $3,116 million. Merchandise export went down by 21.2% to $1,561.2 million, with import down by 8.3% to $1.554.8 million.
In January 2016 the surplus of Belarus' foreign trade in services reached $104.8 million. In January 2016 Belarus' foreign trade in services reached $725.2 million (101.3% as against January 2015). Export of services reached $415 million (93.4%), with import at $310.2 million (114.3%).
