MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – Belarus invites Belgian businessmen to implement projects on the territory of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone, Deputy Economy Minister of Belarus Alexander Yaroshenko said at the opening of the business meetings B2B Belarus-Belgium 2016 on 1 March, BelTA has learned.

“The decision to implement joint projects in the manufacture of export-oriented products with a high added value can benefit both Belarus and Belgium. I think, Belgian businessmen may be interested in joint innovative projects at the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone and the National Science and Technology Park BelBiograd,” noted Alexander Yaroshenko.

The deputy economy minister praised the genuine interest of Belgian businessmen in the cooperation with Belarus. “I am convinced that the majority of scheduled events will be a success and will help develop new promising projects in the trade and economic relations, attract innovative technologies and investments, promote public-private partnership,” he said.

Alexander Yaroshenko stressed that Belarus is the country with an open economy. “In the future the strategy of our foreign trade will rely on the 30-30-30 formula which determines the shares of the Belarusian export to Russia, the countries of the European Union and the distant arc,” he underlined.

According to the deputy economy minister, last year Belgium was one of the top ten partners of Belarus. “We expect to preserve the productive cooperation, develop it, and reach a brand-new level of trade and economic relations. These tasks can be fulfilled with the help of joint projects with Belgian partners,” believes Alexander Yaroshenko.

In his words, the sides can also enhance investment cooperation. Alexander Yaroshenko said that Belarus is an attractive ground for investments. In his words, apart from the progressive investment legislation and favorable preferential doing business conditions, Belarus has a good geographic location. Besides, its membership in the180-million-strong Eurasian economic space is beneficial for investors. They will enjoy duty-free access to Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and the free movement of goods, services, capital, and workforce in the entire Eurasian Economic Union.

“One of the new priorities of the Belarusian state and business is the intensive development of the public-private partnership mechanism. It has been especially relevant in the recent time. The main objective is to raise funds for the organization of long-term infrastructure projects which have traditionally received budget financing. In this context, the law on public-private partnership was passed in Belarus last year, the corresponding institutional network is being developed,” said the deputy economy minister.
