Belarus, Lithuania announce contest of joint sci-tech projects

MINSK, 29 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian State Science and Technology Committee (SSTC) and the Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science have announced a contest of joint Belarusian-Lithuanian science and technology projects for 2017-2018, BelTA learned from the SSTC press service.

The applications opened on 29 February. Eligible fields of study include such priority areas of Belarusian-Lithuanian cooperation as new materials, medicine, medical technology and equipment, photonics and laser technology, pharmaceutics and industrial biotechnology, information and communication technology, innovative technology in agriculture, ecology, resource- and energy-saving technology, and humanitarian and social studies.

The application package must contain a business plan, a written commitment regarding the application of research results and share participation in project financing.

Completed application forms are to be sent in print form (three copies) and in electronic form (on a CD) to the SSTC till 29 April.

As required by the Lithuanian side, the research teams and institutions that already received funding in 2013-2014 or 2015-2016 are not eligible for participation. More detailed information about the contest is available in the International Collaboration section of the SSTC website.

The contest of joint Belarusian-Lithuanian projects is held in line with a relevant agreement on cooperation in science and technology between the governments of the two countries.
