MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) - The Belarusian national football team climbed to the 64th place in the recent rankings of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). In comparison with the February rankings Belarus moved up three spots keeping a total of 517 points, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Khatskevich's team will hold the first matches of the season in March 2016. Belarus will face Armenia (116th in the FIFA rankings) in Yerevan on 25 March and play against Montenegro (84) in Podgorica on 29 March.
The FIFA top ten in March:
1. Belgium – 1.506 points
2. Argentina – 1.457
3. Spain – 1.374
4. Germany – 1.355
5. Chile – 1.307
6. Brazil – 1.254
7. Portugal – 1.234
8. Colombia – 1.215

According to the FIFA rankings, Russia goes 23rd with 892 points, Ukraine – 27th (845), Uzbekistan – 74th (484 points), Estonia – 88th (376), Latvia – 98th (341), Kyrgyzstan – 105th (324), Azerbaijan – 112th (300), Turkmenistan – 113th (298), Georgia – 122nd (283), Kazakhstan – 125th (276), Lithuania – 128th (274), Tajikistan – 150th (193), Moldova – 156th (165).
The next FIFA rankings will be published on 7 April.
