Zhores Alferov and Alexander Lukashenko
MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent a letter of birthday greetings to Nobel Prize winner, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Academician Zhores Alferov, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“We are proud of you as a great son of Belarus, outstanding scientist with a global reputation. Your vigorous public activities aimed at enhancing good neighborly relations between Belarus and Russia and a contribution to the mutually beneficial cooperation of our countries in science, technology and innovation are strongly appreciated,” the head of state noted.
According to the President, the example of Zhores Alferov, constant care and good attitude to young scientists are important stimuli for the development of their creative and intellectual potential.
