Belarus to share nuclear energy development practices with Vietnam

MINSK, 26 February (BelTA) - Belarus will share its experience in nuclear energy development with Vietnam, BelTA learned from the Department of Communications and Public Information of Gosatomnadzor.

The Vietnamese delegation will visit Belarus from 29 February to 2 March on the request of the IAEA. It will include representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS) and other agencies of Vietnam.

The goal of the visit is to study various aspects of nuclear and radiation safety. Belarusian specialists will tell the Vietnamese guests about the development of the nuclear safety regulatory infrastructure, will provide the information on selection of a NPP construction site, licensing, inspection, safe management of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.

Meetings are scheduled in Gosatomnadzor, Energy Ministry, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. On 2 March, the Vietnamese delegation will visit the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.
