MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) - A delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by Director for Foreign Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Roman Sobolev took part in the meeting of the General Council of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on 24-25 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The agenda of the WTO General Council meeting included the prospects of further development of the multilateral trading system and also the issues regarding trade policy relations in the CIS region, which was important for Belarus.
Belarus' delegation met with the representatives of Australia, Brazil, Canada, USA, Ukraine and the Chairman of the WTO Working Party on Belarus' Accession and the WTO Secretariat. The parties discussed the approaches to resumption of the negotiating process on Belarus WTO accession and identified the mechanisms for further interaction.
