MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus intends to develop a machine for cleaning sidewalks, BelTA learned from Piotr Vityaz, Chief of Staff of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).
“A new machine for cleaning sidewalks is under consideration. Some headway is being made,” said the official.
The initiative has already been agreed with interested parties. The Minsk city administration would like to get such machines, said the NASB Chief of Staff. The project will have to go through expert evaluation. Funding will be made available after that.
The United Mechanical Engineering Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is the key developer. The manufacturer will be chosen in a routine manner once the documentation is ready.
Speaking about R&D products for the aerospace industry, Piotr Vityaz noted that the Belarusian satellite for the remote sensing of the Earth with two-meter resolution works well. Now it is necessary to create a new satellite with 0.5-meter resolution. New materials, new optics and electronics are needed for that.
