Belarusian MTZ eager to sell more to Africa

MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) intends to greatly increase sales to African countries, BelTA learned from Alexander Kazakevich, MTZ Deputy Marketing Director for Commercial Operations in CIS, Ukraine, and Georgia, on 25 February.

“Last year we set up a trading house in Egypt. Unfortunately, we've been unable to secure desired results right away. But this year we definitely intend to increase sales to Egypt, Nigeria, and South Africa. We are working on a serious project with Zimbabwe,” said Alexander Kazakevich.

In his words, sales in Africa are counted in hundreds of vehicles and machines. “For example, if we talk about Egypt, we sold about one thousand tractors last year. Now we intend to raise the figure by at least 50%,” said the MTZ representative.

Minsk Tractor Works was founded in 1946. It is part of the system of enterprises run by the Belarusian Industry Ministry. The company offers over 120 models and modifications of tractors and vehicles with over 200 options for all kinds of climatic and operational conditions. MTZ has assembly enterprises in Russia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, China, Romania, Egypt, Serbia, Algeria, Venezuela, and other countries. in 2015 the Belarusian company traded with partners from 76 countries.
