MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – A checkpoint at the contact line in Ukraine may be opened as early as March, BelTA learned from Martin Sajdik, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office's special representative in the trilateral contact group on Ukraine, on 24 February.
Martin Sajdik said: “The Ukrainian side has confirmed they are ready to open a checkpoint for automobiles and humanitarian cargoes near the population center of Zolotoye. If security conditions are met, the checkpoint will be opened in early March.”
Apart from that, he said that all the sides had agreed to allow the International Committee of the Red Cross to access the territory between roadblocks for the sake of marking and fencing off minefields.
