MINSK, 29 February (BelTA) – The celebrations of the Chinese Spring Festival in Minsk that started on 24 February finished with a fair of Chinese national art on 26 February, BelTA has learned.
The fair invited Belarusian children and young people to try their hand in Chinese crafts. The event was designed specifically for young art enthusiasts and was held at the Minsk Palace of Children and Youth. Specially set up stands invited young Belarusians to practice the Chinese style of painting and learn to write Chinese well-wishing characters.
The photo exhibition New Face of Silk Road was among the events organized as part of the celebrations. A performance by the students of Tagou Martial Arts School from Dengfeng made the biggest impression on young viewers.
Thus, the Chinese Spring Festival ended this year. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming expressed confidence that the celebration helped the Belarusians get in touch with Chinese traditions. The program of the events under the name of “Merry Spring Holiday Brings Joy to Belarus” included a press conference, a photo exhibition, concerts, and an art fair.
The organizers of the series of events on the occasion of the Spring Festival were the Chinese Culture Ministry, the Chinese diplomatic mission in Minsk, Culture Ministry of the Republic of Belarus with the support of the Culture Department of Henan Province and Bel Huawei Technologies.
The Chinese Embassy is confident that the cultural relations between Belarus and China will be growing stronger.
