MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – A total of 260 CIS representatives are involved in the monitoring of the preparations for the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan, BelTA learnt from the CIS observation mission headquarters.
The formation of the mission continues. As of 10 March, a total of 260 observers were accredited. They represent Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, the Belarus-Russia Union State Parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the CIS Executive Committee.
Observers continue getting familiar with the work of election commissions in the regions of Kazakhstan. The have already visited Karaganda Oblast to hold meetings with representatives of the oblast election commission, the election commissions of the cities of Karaganda and Temirtau and discussed the composition of the voters' list and the issuance of absentee voting certificates at precinct election commissions.
The snap parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan are scheduled for 20 March.
