MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – A parliamentary delegation led by President of the National Assembly (parliament) of Ecuador Gabriela Alejandra Rivadeneira Burbano is expected to visit Belarus in March, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The forthcoming visit was discussed at the meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Ecuador Igor Poluyan and the President of the National Assembly of Ecuador on 3 March. “The parties expressed confidence that the forthcoming meeting in Minsk would add a new impetus to the development of the Belarusian-Ecuadorian inter-parliamentary cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, open new opportunities for expanding economic, sci-tech and education cooperation between Belarus and Ecuador,” the press service stressed.
Gabriela Rivadeneira informed the head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission that the Ecuador-Belarus Friendship Group would be set up at the National Assembly of Ecuador in the near future.
The meeting also highlighted the state and prospects for the political dialogue and economic cooperation between the two countries.
