MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) – Famous Ecuadorian musician Jorge Saade will record an album in Minsk with the participation of the Symphony Orchestra of the Belarusian TV and Radio Company and conductor David Harutyunyan, BelTA learned from the Ecuadorian Embassy in Belarus, the organizer of the project.
“It will be the first time that a European symphony orchestra has recorded music by such notable Ecuadorian composers as Gerardo Guevara, Juan Carlos Urrutia, Jorge Oviedo, and Luis Torres. The concert will premiere Symphony No.3 by David Harutyunyan who will come to Belarus to conduct the orchestra,” the organizers said.
Ecuadorian violinist Jorge Saade already played in the Belarusian capital. In October 2015 he held his first concert in Belarus. David Harutyunyan, who has Armenian and Ecuadorian roots, has also been to Belarus before. In the 1980s he visited Minsk when he worked with Moscow's Sovremennik Theater.
The recording is scheduled for 12 March. It will be conducted at the House of Radio in the presence of a live audience who will come to enjoy Ecuadorian melodies. The concert will also feature eminent Ecuadorian singer and songwriter Pamela Cortes.
The project has been initiated by Ambassador of Ecuador to Belarus Carlos Larrea Davila. The concert Friendship of Peoples will celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of the Ecuadorian Embassy in Minsk.
