Leaders of Russia, UK, France, Germany and Italy support roadmap on Syrian settlement

MOSCOW, 4 March (BelTA - TASS) - Russian President Vladimir Putin, UK Prime Minister David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi "supported the roadmap on settlement coordinated by International Syria Support Group and adopted by UN Security Council Resolution 2254," the Kremlin press service said on Friday.

According to the press service, "the Russian side noted that the decision of Syrian authorities to hold parliamentary election in April is in line with existing constitution of the Syrian Arab Republic and does not hamper steps on building a peace process."

The five leaders held a multilateral telephone conversation on Syria earlier today.
