MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – Lithuania believes that Belarus has great potential for the development of science and business, Irena Vedrickaite, Minister Counselor at the Lithuanian Embassy in Belarus, said at the second Belarusian-Baltic forum Cooperation – Catalyst for Innovative Growth on 6 October, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus has a well-established scientific base, many researches and universities, and also well-developed industrial sector. We believe that the country has great potential for the development of science and business,” Irena Vedrickaite noted. She said that agriculture and medicine are promising areas of Belarusian-Lithuanian cooperation. The interaction in physics is expected to be particularly fruitful.
Belarus and Lithuania already implement joint projects in different formats. ”We have worked out cooperation guidelines for the future, and hope that they will be approved at the state level,” Irena Vedrickaite said.
The Science and Technology Park BNTU Polytechnic hosted the Belarusian-Baltic forum Cooperation – Catalyst for Innovative Growth on 6 October. Partaking in the forum were government officials, academics, and representatives of innovative companies and technology parks of Belarus, Latvia and Lithuania. The event was aimed at expanding and strengthening scientific, technical and innovative cooperation among the countries and identifying promising areas for international cooperation and promotion of knowledge-intensive products and technologies.
