GOMEL, 4 October (BelTA) – Belarusian goods are of high quality and are very competitive, directors of two big Lithuanian companies, Metalo Prekyba President Jurgis Cepulis and Bodesa Director General Rolandas Gabrielaitis, said as they met with Gomel Oblast Governor Vladimir Dvornik on 4 October during their visit to Gomel Oblast, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.
Jurgis Cepulis stated that during the visit the parties agreed to double the purchase of Rechitsa Hardware Plant products. If this agreement is successful, Lithuanian businessmen are ready to discuss even bigger projects. Rolandas Gabrielaitis praised the quality of Gomelsteklo products. Under a new agreement signed during the visit the Gomel plant will supply over 500,000 square meters of float glass and 70,000 square meters of laminated glass to Lithuania.
Belarus' Ambassador to Lithuania Alexander Korol, who accompanied the guests during the visit, said that a joint company may be set up in Gomel to produce insulated glass units from low-emissivity glass with the use of argon.
The parties also agreed to exchange business visits this year. Vladimir Dvornik promised assistance in receiving the Lithuanian delegation and compiling the program of the visit.
