BREST, 3 March (BelTA) – The Luninets central district hospital (Brest Oblast) won an international grant on the delivery of ultrasound equipment, BelTA learnt from acting head doctor of the medical facility Anatoly Baran.
The hospital took part in Japan's government program on grants for population security projects Grass Roots. The hospital will get a modern ultrasound machine worth nearly $34,000 in Q2 2016.
“In our application we stated that our district is one of the areas which suffered most from the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. This ultrasound system, the same as any modern medical equipment, will improve the quality of diagnostics and enhance the level of accessibility of medical assistance to people,” noted Anatoly Baran.
The new equipment will be installed at the urban clinic or the district hospital. It will be used to examine abdomen pathologies, cardiovascular system and gynecological disorders.
The Luninets district hospital provides care to nearly 63,000 patients.
