Makei: The CIS Economic Court will convene when necessary

BISHKEK, 16 September (BelTA) – The CIS Economic Court will operate as and when necessary, BelTA learned from Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei on 16 September.

The Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs said: “The CIS Economic Court will be optimized. We have agreed that the court will not work on a permanent basis. Instead it will convene to look into specific cases that may emerge from time to time.”

The staff of the CIS Economic Court will be small. “The Economic Court will be able to retain services of any other independent experts to deal with specific cases,” noted Vladimir Makei.

Vladimir Makei underlined that the decision had been reached collectively although the sides had had serious differences of opinion initially.
