National program on Belarus export in 2016-2020 ready by end of March

MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs intends to finish work on the national program on export development in 2016-2020 by the end of March, BelTA learned from Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei during the 17th Assembly of the Business Circles of Belarus on 2 March.

“We have nearly finished working on the national program on Belarus' export in 2016-2020. The work is supposed to be finished by the end of March. The document will be forwarded to the Council of Ministers then,” noted Vladimir Makei.

According to the official, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received a lot of proposals and remarks after the document was published on the Ministry's website. “We are now analyzing them and enhancing the document taking them into account,” he said.

Vladimir Makei underlined that the program takes into account the role of the private sector. “Moreover, we have asked the relevant associations of businessmen to speak up and have taken their proposals into consideration. We are convinced that small and medium businesses can play a more prominent role in Belarus' foreign trade operations. I hope that today's meeting will give a new impulse to the advancement of the dialogue between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the business community,” he stated.

The Belarusian Entrepreneurship Week is scheduled to take place on 29 February — 4 March. Scheduled for 2 March, the 17th Assembly of the Business Circles of Belarus is the key event. The event gathered business leaders, founders and directors of private enterprises, heads and specialists of ministries and government agencies, diplomats, representatives of regional and economy-branch business associations of Belarus as well as reporters. Participants of the Assembly were made familiar with the country's draft national business platform for 2016.
