MOGILEV, 3 March (BelTA) – Omsk Carbon Group plans to start the production of technical carbon at FEZ Mogilev in late 2016, Mogilev Oblast Vice Governor Dmitry Kharitonchik told a press conference on 2 March, BelTA informs.
One of the biggest investment projects was launched at FEZ Mogilev in 2013. As for today the design and budget documentation is ready, the whole complex of construction works is underway and some of the premises have already been built. About 70% of technological equipment has been installed on the site.
The first technological line on the production of technical carbon will go operational at the end of the year. The investment project will be completed in November 2017. The company is designed to produce up to 150,000 tonnes of technical carbon of various types. The company will offer about 500 jobs. Nearly €100 million will be invested in the project.
The project is expected to benefit one of Europe's biggest tyre producers, Bobruisk Belshina, with one of its main raw materials. The rest of the products will be exported, mainly, to the EU countries. “The project will provide for the import-substituting manufacturing of competitive products, will help increase the exports and the inflow of currency resources into the country,” said Dmitry Kharitonchik.
