BISHKEK, 16 September (BelTA) – Tight industry-specific cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States allows taking concrete steps in various spheres, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko on 16 September.
“I would like to mention tight industry-specific interaction across the board in the Commonwealth of Independent States. It involves over 35 agencies for industry-specific cooperation where ministers of our countries meet and discuss topical problems and sketch out concrete plans for various spheres,” said the Ambassador.
In particular, the countries cooperate in railway transport and aviation, crime control, fight against terrorism and illegal migration. “Joint efforts need to be coordinated in order to effectively combat transnational crimes,” added the Ambassador.
The range of cooperation in the CIS space is very broad in cultural, educational, and healthcare affairs. “Everything we are concerned in our everyday lives, particularly in relations with our closest neighbors, lies in scope of multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States,” pointed out the diplomat.
The Ambassador said he was confident that the 25th CIS summit that took place in Bishkek on 16 September would give an additional impulse to the performance of all the structures and agencies operating on the CIS platform.
