Rapota: Slavonic Bazaar owes a lot of its success to Belarus

The secret behind the longevity of the Slavonic Bazaar is the enthusiasm of the Belarusians who put their heart into this project, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told a press conference in Vitebsk.

"It takes great effort to keep the cultural project afloat for a long time. I heard that a TV project lasts 4-5 years the longest. Of course, there are unique projects such as What? Where? When? The Slavonic Bazaar is in the same league of such great projects,” Grigory Rapota said.

In his opinion, the festival has remained relevant for many years thanks to the effort of its founders and organizers. "The Belarusian side has put its heart into it and also a lot of finances", he underlined. He also noted that it is very important not to lose sight of the new trends. "Music, singing and dancing art is constantly changing, becoming adequate to the time in which we live. To catch these trends and materialize them on stage is also great art. The organizers of the Slavonic Bazaar make it possible,” Grigory Rapota noted.

Belarus and Russia are marking the Day of Union State at the 24th international festival of arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk on 10 July. The official part of the program started with the meeting between the Vitebsk Oblast authorities and representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State and a flower ceremony at the Eternal Light of the Memorial to Commemorate the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War, Liberators, Partisans and Underground Fighters of Vitebsk Oblast.

The program will include visits to the Art Museum and the Ilya Repin Museum-Estate Zdravnevo. The Ilya Repin Museum will host the awards ceremony of prize winners of the 3rd Belarusian-Russian plein-air of young artists and the cancelation of a specially designed commemorative envelope. In the evening the Summer Amphitheater will play host to a big gala concert.
