MINSK, 29 February (BelTA) – Belarusian agricultural products are exported to more than 30 countries, Belarus' Vice Premier Mikhail Rusy said during the STV show Nedelya on 28 February, BelTA has learned.
“Russia accounts for more than 80% of the Belarusian agricultural exports. Today this market is our main partner. However, we have a task to increase the exports of the agricultural produce to third markets. We have developed more than 30 markets,” noted Mikhail Rusy. In his words, today 15 companies may export their products to China. The work is underway with the markets of Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates. “It is difficult to work there, but we must do our best,” Mikhail Rusy believes.
In his words, one of the difficulties is that Belarus enters markets with a big number of its sellers. “It helps a smart manager on that side to knock down the price,” the Vice Premier explained.
According to Mikhail Rusy, the agricultural sector is currently trying to address its personnel issue. In his words, a number of experiments were held. The absence of the knowledge of the English language was disclosed during phone calls to the reception desk of some heads of the agricultural companies. “We are currently training the staff of a new generation,” he stressed.
According to Mikhail Rusy, agricultural companies cooperate with the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange. “The Exchange shows us the demand for our products. The main thing is to present brands,” he said. Mikhail Rusy stressed that sellers should be aggressive diplomats. “Otherwise it is hard to survive,” he concluded.
