MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – Belarusian biathletes Nadezhda Skardino and Maria Panfilova finished among the top ten in the 7.5K sprint of the IBU Open European Championships in Tyumen, BelTA has learned.
Nadezhda Skardino came in fifth, while Maria Panfilova was sixth. The Belarusians shoot clean to finish 34.5 seconds and 37.6 seconds behind the winner respectively.
The biathletes from Germany occupied the podium, with gold going to Nadine Horchler (21:53.0; 0+1). Silver was collected by Karolin Horchler (12.7 back; 0+0). Annika Knoll clinched bronze, 28.5 back (0+0).
Dinara Alimbekova of Belarus finished 22nd, 1:35.1 back (1+0). Her teammate Kristina Ilchenko was 2:01.9 behind the winner (1+2).
For Nadezhda Skardino the competitions in Tyumen are a fit check ahead of the IBU World Championships which are due in Norway on 3-13 March.
