MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) - Slovakia plans to develop cooperation with Belarus in agriculture, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovakia to Belarus Jozef Migas told reporters while visiting Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark), BelTA has learned.
“We believe that we need to enhance cooperation in the field of agriculture. Belarus is very strong in this area, especially with regard to dairy products. We need closer cooperation in cattle breeding. I think we will be gradually setting up joint ventures in agriculture. We can bring here our vets, livestock experts, crop growers. We need to find out of the box solutions, develop joint manufacture, not just export-import operations,” Jozef Migas said.
The diplomat noted that the interest of Slovak farmers and suppliers of agricultural equipment to Belarus is growing. This is especially true for tractors and harvesters. “Belarusian machinery performs all necessary functions. It is easier to operate, maintain and repair, and its price is considerably lower. It is suitable for many agricultural businesses Slovakia,” he added.
