MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Belarus has welcomed the first days of spring with a snowstorm, called Zissi, that can dump up to 15mm of snow on some northeastern areas of the country Weather forecasts predict wet snow and rain in the central and northeastern parts of Belarus on 2 March. Slush build-up and black ice are expected at night. Vitebsk Oblast may face a blizzard and snow drifts on roads.
All utility and emergencies services will stay on alert to deal with any unfavorable consequences of the snowstorm.
Due to storm warnings, the state road police call upon motorists and pedestrians to follow general safety precautions on road.
