MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – Leader of the Belarusian national rhythmic gymnastics team Melitina Staniouta collected a bronze medal with the Clubs at the FIG Moscow Grand Prix, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian got a total of 18,316 points for her performance. Russia's Margarita Mamun (18,950 points) and Arina Averina (18,350 points) won gold and silver medals respectively. In the Ribbons, Ball and Loop routines Melitina Staniouta ranked fourth.
The Belarusian finished fifth with 72,249 points in the All-Around standings. Russia's Alexandra Soldatova topped the chart with 74,066 points. Yekaterina Galkina of Belarus ranked 12th with 67,765 points.
Moscow also hosted the Alina Cup tournament for the prizes of Olympic champion Alina Kabayeva. Junior Alina Gornosko of Belarus won gold medals with the Rope (16,200 points) and the Clubs (16,750). The Belarusian was third in the Hoop routine with the total of 16,100 points.
The next big competitions for the Belarusian athletes will take place in Espoo, Finland on 24-26 February.
