GRODNO, 14 March (BelTA) – A Swiss investor intends to build a pig farm in Shchuchin District, Grodno Oblast, BelTA learned from representatives of the Economy Committee of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.
On 14 March the Grodno Oblast administration decided in favor of signing an investment contract with a private company for the sake of implementing the project that envisages building a pig farm in Shchuchin District. The investor is ready to spend €4 million for setting up the enterprise. The investor will get a land plot in the former military camp near the village of Bogdanovtsy with a number of existing buildings.
The project provides for building a pig farm for 12,000 head of pig, including a slaughterhouse and a processing shop. The project will be implemented in three stages. The first one is supposed to begin in April 2016. At least 30 jobs will be created.
Representatives of the Shchuchin District Executive Committee explained that they are discussing the possibility of selling an agricultural enterprise to the same company in the future. The agricultural enterprise is located in Shchuchin District.
