MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won three gold medals at the European Throwing Cup that took place in Romania's Arad on 12-13 March, BelTA has learned.
Belarus' Vladimir Kozlov's first throw proved the best of the day as he took the title with 79.34m. Second was France's Jeremy Nicollin with his fourth round 76.77m. Italian Norbert Bonvecchio (76.66m) took the bronze.
In the women's shot-put event Belarus' Yelena Abramchuk showed the best 17.21m in her second attempt. France's Jessica Serival got silver (17.05m). Bronze went to Czech Marketa Cervenkova (16.86m). In the U23 shot put contest Yelena Pasechnik of Belarus won bronze with 15.88m.
Anna Malyshik borught Belarus its third gold with her best attempt of 68.76m in the women's U23 hammer throwing.
The men's hammer silver went to Sergei Kolomoyets of Belarus (75.17m). Fourth in the event was another Belarusian Sergei Roganov (60.53m).
Belarus collected five medals at the 2016 European Throwing Cup. The men's team topped the overall standings of the event.
