MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Prices for consumer goods in Belarus are 10% lower than in the Central Federal District of Russia, BelTA learnt from spokesperson for the Belarusian Trade Ministry Yelena Malinovskaya.
“In comparison with the Central Federal District of Russia, retail prices for consumer goods in Belarus are 10% lower on average,” said Yelena Malinovskaya.
According to the Trade Ministry, in the first two months of 2016 the price index for food and non-food goods in Belarus reduced by 0.4% in comparison with the same period last year.
According to Yelena Malinovskaya, in January-February 2016 the ministry checked 461 trade and catering facilities. The audits resulted in more than 700 reports to judicial bodies and over Br2.7 billion worth of fines.
