MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – Melitina Staniouta of Belarus clinched bronze medals in the Clubs and Ribbon routines at the FIG Rhythmic World Cup which took place in Espoo, Finland on 24-26 February, BelTA informs.
The leader of the Belarusian national team earned a total of 18,400 points in the Clubs event. Russia's Alexandra Soldatova scored 18,750 points to collect gold. Silver went to Ganna Rizatdinova of Ukraine (18,500). Belarus' Yekaterina Galkina finished fifth with 17,900 points.
Melitina Staniouta also claimed bronze in the Ribbon event. She was leading after the qualifying round, but got a total of 18,350 points in the final to finish behind Ganna Rizatdinova (18,450 points) and Son Yeon Jae (18,400). Yekaterina Galkina of Belarus was seventh with a total of 17,800 points.
Melitina Staniouta ranked fourth with the total of 73,100 points in the All-Around standings. Yekaterina Galkina placed 7th with 70,350 points. Alexandra Soldatova of Russia topped the All-Around standings with the total of 73,750 points.
The next FIG Rhythmic World Cup will take place in Lisbon on 17-20 March.
