At present the trade turnover stands at $40 million, but the Belarus president has mentioned the figure of $200 million. Our countries have opportunities and the potential for raising the trade volume up to this figure.”
The Vice Prime Minister of Georgia noted that joint projects and enterprises, manufacturing cooperation in the production sector, agriculture, and tourism had been discussed among cooperation avenues. “Belarusian tractors are famous in Georgia even now, but they will be even more popular taking into account the technologies we have seen,” he stated.
Georgian Agriculture Minister Otar Danelia underlined that Georgia can learn from Belarus as far as the development of agriculture is concerned. “Belarus has a lot of experience regarding agriculture while Georgia has de-prioritized agriculture for years. We have something to learn from you,” he concluded.
Speaking about the assembling of Belarusian compact tractors in Georgia, the Agriculture Minister explained that the size suits Georgian farmers best. “Such tractors are very handy and are very well adapted to our conditions. Apart from that, together we have developed technical parameters of the harvesters that we are going to test in Georgia soon,” said Otar Danelia.
