MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with a European Union delegation, the Ministry's press service told BelTA. The delegation was led by Deputy Director-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission Katarina Mathernova and Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Laszlo Baranyay.
The meeting focused on further steps to intensify Belarus' trade, economic, and financial cooperation with the European Union, prospects of Belarus' interaction with the European Investment Bank, ways to intensify Belarusian-European sectoral dialogue, and opportunities for expanding the choice of instruments and the volume of the European Union's international technical aid for Belarus.
Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna also met with representatives of the European Commission and the European Investment Bank.
While in Minsk the European Union delegation also met with top officials of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, the Economy Ministry, the Finance Ministry, and the Belarus President Administration.
